Reunion Day 2

So Day two John and Robert (Uncle Tio) went on a 16 mile hike through the Zion Narrowns.

What a pretty flower. They saw many amazing things.
Robert was enjoying the hike at this point in his new TEVAS.
Ahhh off the log ad into the water.
There is John as happy as can be.
The cliffs got bigger nad bigger. Look at how little Robert is.
They came acrros a water fall that was about 15 feet tall.
The "Hawaii Spot" as John called it.
By this point the guys feet were getting pretty messed up.
Oooo...
John can not contain his excitment.
They finally made it back to the camp site after 7pm.  Robert feet were Sad.

My primary handout

Here is the hand out I used for the Senior primary today August 2010 week 2.
I am going to tell the stories of Christ such as two blind men (Matthew 9:27–31), an invalid (John 5:1–9), the ten lepers (Luke 17:12–19), or the nobleman’s son (John 4:46–53).  Then I am going to have the children draw a comic strip of their favorit miracle as if they are actually there. I hope this will get them really thinking about what it could have been like to be there.  Feel free to copy and past this and use it for your lesson.

The 2010 Whoever Family Reunion Day 1

So the formatting of this page just will not do what I want it to do so some pics are out of order.  So we were all in Zion by Friday and ready for adventure.  Our first stop on the 108 degree day was Weeping Rock.

I was very excited!

Milton found it very cool that water was coming out of the giant wall of rock.

The Rock Squirles were crazy and and would go right up to your backpack and try to take any food you had.

The Virgin River

After a 1 mile walk we made it to the Virgin River.

The water was so nice in the hot weather.
We really enjoyed the shade.  Quentin and all of the boys loved all of the rocks.
As you can see Milton enjoyed it very much.  Look at how skinny he is. Ahhh!
John of course  took in the nature.
Tio and Heather relazing on a "Confortable" rock.
Mommy spending some one and one time with the Q.

IT WAS A GREAT FIRST DAY

Miltons 6th Birthday

MILTON'S 6TH BIRTHDAY
 in
ELKO NEVADA
Since Miltons birthday is right next to the 4th of July we were lucky enough to be in another town this year for their 4th of july parade.  Much better that the Page perade I must say. Milton was reasy to get some candy.  An added bonus of perades in a small town.
Here are John and Quentin watching the perade in front of the Elko County Court House.
For lunch we went to a round table pizza and partook of their lunch buffet.
Now to this really cool park to open Milton's present.  What could it be Milton?
A scooter! A "two wheeler" as Milton calls it.
Then we went to the Basque festival. We learned about another culture.
Basque Dancers
To end the day we went to see the movie Toy Story 3.  It was very funny and we suggest you see it.

Prunty Cabin

Prunty Cabin near Elko Nevada
With a sudden itch to travel we took off for Elko Nevada to visit my mothers property.
Saddly we could not sleep in the cabin.  It is in very bad disrepair.
It was very sad
Quentin and I onthe property looking East. There is our car.
18 acers total. Here we are walking North back to the car.
John and the boys hanging out on top of the car at the sother tip of the property.

School is just around the corner

John Braves the Dessert for a Close Look at Rainbow Bridge.

JOHN HIKES TO RAINBOW BRIDGE
Johns "little" 28 Mile hike turned out to be a 35 Mile hike with brutal winds and sand coming at him in all directions. The wind was so bad his tent could not save him from the sand.  A tent pole was even bent due to the force of the wind.
But after braving all of the elements the hike was well worth it to see the worlds larges natural bridge.
Water was not easy to come by. Any water was used by filtering it through a portable water filter. John was lucky that his friend Sam came along.  John's filter was broken and had to use Sam's to filter his drinking water.

This is a view of the bridge that is enjoyed by very few people. This would be considered the back side of Rainbow Bridge. Below is a shot of the back side of Navajo Mountain known by the Navajos to be one of the Four Sacred Mountains.
