John Braves the Dessert for a Close Look at Rainbow Bridge.

JOHN HIKES TO RAINBOW BRIDGE
Johns "little" 28 Mile hike turned out to be a 35 Mile hike with brutal winds and sand coming at him in all directions. The wind was so bad his tent could not save him from the sand.  A tent pole was even bent due to the force of the wind.
But after braving all of the elements the hike was well worth it to see the worlds larges natural bridge.
Water was not easy to come by. Any water was used by filtering it through a portable water filter. John was lucky that his friend Sam came along.  John's filter was broken and had to use Sam's to filter his drinking water.

This is a view of the bridge that is enjoyed by very few people. This would be considered the back side of Rainbow Bridge. Below is a shot of the back side of Navajo Mountain known by the Navajos to be one of the Four Sacred Mountains.

Still no working camera

So we finally purchased a new camera while the boys and I were in Flagstaff for Milton's Heart appointment.  John was leaving the next day for a big hike and wanted to take photos.  I hooked it up to charge over night for about 30 miles of hiking crazy. The next morning I found the charger light blinking rather than off.  Called the horrid Fugifilm company and they were of no help.  The man did not even answer the phone professionally and when I told him my problem he just said "I can't help you. It is either the charger or the battery but since I don't have either in my hands I cant help you".  Well thanks a lot. So we ended up going down to the Wal Mart and after looking a batteries and not knowing if it was the battery or the charger causing the problem I could not bring myself to purchase a $40 battery.  So John ended up with a disposable camera.

So till the next time I am near a Target I still have no photo taking abilities.

Quentin is now walking great.  He can bend down and pick things up ad can say NO.  He does not over use it yet. HE finds it funny to pinch and is exploring the world with his teeth.  He also says "More" pretty well and "Ball" is sounding good too.  Other words or phrases he uses to communicate are "Poo poo", "Here you go", "Ouch" and I know there are more but I can not think of them right now.  He can use a kazoo and a harmonica.  Oh yeah he says "GOO GOO GAA GAA" When he wants to play drums. Laughs at faces, when tickled and when anyone says ouch.

We are looking forward to our trip to San Diego this Month and seeing family.  Tell the next update.

Drumline pictures

Just wanted to share a couple pictures of our drumline group and show you how happy they were when we won first.  We were very pleased with our success.

A CRAZY LIFE

So drumline is over now but things have not slowed down.  Milotn is now in T-ball and has at lease on game a week.  We are also involved with the high schools musical Cinderella.  Milton is in teh opening and closing numbers.  Practices till 9 pm the next 2 nights and then 3 days of performances.  Baseball game on friday and John is going to take Milton to see the Vasity baseball game on Friday also.  I left our camera out in the sprinklers, on accident, and the camera in now officially dead so there may not be new pictures for a little while till we can get a new one.

Quentin has an Ear infection and is making his life miserable.  Over 100 degree temps and the chills to boot.  He is doing a little better now that he has his meds.  We are also gearing up for our big fundraiser, A Night of Jazz, and it will be at the end of this month.  So right now I am keeping my eye on the prize.  The second week of May.  We are starting to clean up the back yard for our second year of gardening and we are going to be putting in 5 fruit trees and 2 grape plants.  In a couple of years we are going to have so much food to can we wont be able to leave during the summer.

Johns Sisiter Andrea just had her second little boy on Monday the 12th of April.  Sven is 8 pounds 10 ounces and doing great as far as I know.  That makes 3 nephews and one niece.  OK, Robert its time for you to start producing children now.  My children need a lot more cousins.

John has landed a music gig at the Marriott in town and is looking forward to finalizing the details for this summer gig.  I plan on running the Owens Farm and spending time with my boys.
